Foreign trade

In 2000, the total import and export value of Fuzhou was US $5.07664 billion, an increase of 47.94 per cent over US $3.68424 billion in 1999. Total export value was US$2.70345 billion, an increase of 33.43 per cent over US $2.02617 billion in 1999, equivalent to 22.3 per cent of Fuzhou's GDP. The top five export markets are shown in Table 7.40.2.

Import value was US$2.37319 billion, an increase of 43.13 per cent over US $1.65807 billion in 1999. Imports came mainly from countries and regions such as Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan Province, USA, Republic of Korea, Italy, Germany, France and Malaysia.
