The province abounds in mineral deposits, over 120 of which have been verified . Ferrous metals include iron and manganese, and non-ferrous metals include copper , tungsten and aluminium. The province's reserves of iron ores are among the highest in the country. There are also deposits of coal , limestone and china clay. With an area of 50,000 hectares under forest, the province is rich in timber reserves , estimated at 400 million cubic metres. The province has ample supplies of sub-tropical products such as sugar cane, peanuts and oranges. Fujian's long coastline offers favourable conditions for fishing and aquaculture.
