Modified polyphenylene oxide (MPPO)

The domestic demand for MPPO is about 10,000 tons. In the early 1990s, China completed construction of two polymerization facilities, with 2000 tons per annum resin production capacity and 4000 tons per annum blending capacity. However, these plants have ceased production leaving a few blending plants with a capacity of about 4,000 tons per annum. At the end of the tenth Five Year Plan, domestic MPPO capacity will reach 1,000 tons.
