Even though the BlackBerry 7100 series devices don't include such nifty gadgets as a built-in digital camera, photographs aren't entirely foreign to the BlackBerry experience. More specifically , the standard Photo Album application allows you to manage images on your device, including viewing them and setting them as wallpaper. What is somewhat unfortunate is that not every BlackBerry 7100 device is equipped to allow image attachments to email messages. If you use the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, you might have access to image attachments, but if not, it's up to your specific wireless provider to support image attachments. (Some do, some don't, and some support limited image file formats.) Even if your device doesn't allow you to send and receive images using email, you can still download images to your device from your desktop PC or from a website. The Photo Album application is how you work with images after they are stored on your device.

NOTE

You aren't entirely out of luck if your device doesn't support image attachments in email messages. One option to consider is switching to a third-party email client application on your device. However, a less imposing option is to download an add-on that gives the standard BlackBerry email client image attachment functionality. One such add-on is BBImageViewer by Terratial Technologies. To find out more about BBImageViewer, visit the Terratial website at http://www.terratial.com/.
