Configure Task Options The
Tasks Options screen includes a couple options that control how tasks are displayed and how they are deleted, as well as a purely informational statistic about how many tasks you currently have active. The first option,
Sort By , determines the order in which tasks are displayed in the task list. You can use the
Sort By field to sort tasks by
Subject, Priority, Due Date , or
Status .
TIP
The Sort By setting is obviously up to your own personal needs, but I find that sorting tasks by Due Date is typically the most helpful because it allows me to see the tasks in chronological order. Alternatively, if you want to get a feel for where each task lies in terms of completion, sort by Status .
The
Confirm Delete option is the other option on the
Tasks Options screen, and it controls whether you are prompted to confirm the deletion of a task. The default value of this setting is
Yes , which requires you to agree to a prompt before deleting a task. Unless you don't mind the risk of accidentally deleting a task, I recommend keeping the default setting.
The
Number of Entries field on the
Tasks Options screen isn't an option but instead provides you with the total number of tasks on your device. This piece of information can help you get a handle on how much work you have ahead of you in terms of a total task count.
