Viewing the Results


Once your network views are configured, and after your client machines have rebooted, the Network icon in the Finder will use the network view configuration applicable to that computer. Below is a series of images that show what can be done with network views to organize what the user sees when browsing the network.

The original, flat network view.

Using Workgroup Manager to create a new network view.

The resulting network view as seen on a client computer.

The same network view, but with "Add to Network view" having been selected instead of "Replace Network view." Notice the Pretendco workgroup that is present even though it wasn't defined in the network view.
