Chapter 9. Web Technologies

9. Web Technologies

The Internet is composed of many, many computers directly connected to a publicly available network. Collectively these computers and their content are called the Internet. In Mac OS X Server 10.4, Apple has provided an extensive set of applications and components that can be combined to help you provide content over the Web. These services begin with basic Web site support and continue through to support for dynamic Web page generation, proxy services, WebDAV, and Weblogs (or blogs).

Before you can set up your first Web site, you will need to complete several actions, including configuring files, obtaining a domain name, setting up domain name services (DNS), and building your content. This chapter covers each of those tasks.
