What You ve Learned

What You've Learned

  • Directory services allow multiple processes to access common system data, such as user information.

  • A centralized data store allows for easier maintenance by a system administrator.

  • With data stored on a network server, multiple computers can access the same data.

  • With proper configuration, the same user account can be used to log in on multiple computers on the network; the user is no longer tied to a single computer.

  • User records, the most frequently used record type, stores information to uniquely identify a user. Group records define one or more users that should share certain system permissions.
