What You ve Learned

What You've Learned

  • Use SSL wherever possible when setting up a mail server.

  • Use Certificate Assistant to create your own certificate.

  • Once a certificate has been added to your keychain, you can start using it with the Apple Mail application.

  • The Apple Mail service permits many authentication methods, such as Kerberos and CRAM-MD5.

  • Requiring the use of certificates when checking e-mail decreases the risk someone else will view your e-mail in transit.

  • Enable virus and spam detection on your e-mail servers to reduce the number of potential attacks and unwanted e-mail traffic.
