Using Resource Manager for Specific Usage Billing

Citrix Resource Manager (RM) may be used to supplement the monthly subscription fee model by billing users for some applications per minute of connection time. It also enables billing by memory utilization and/or processor utilization. A semiconductor manufacturer, for example, might utilize a common manufacturing application requiring a huge amount of RAM per user. RM can add a supplemental fee for the inordinate amount of server resources that manufacturing users consume.

RM Billing

RM can create its own billing reports, which can be delivered directly to users or imported into another accounting or ERP application.

User Delineation

RM provides the capability of going through the domain structures and creating bills for users or groups. RM enables billing by user or by cost center using the Windows domain structure, or you can create your own cost center assignments. For example, you might bill by office or by department. Users in different geographical locations can automatically be charged in their own currency.

Billing Reports

Billing reports can be constructed to show resources used, session start time, session elapsed time, process loaded time, CPU time, memory utilized, and process active time. Figure C-1 shows a screen print from an RM report.
