5.4 Beyond CMP

Container-managed persistence is the ideal. It enables you to build large-scale enterprise applications without worrying about the database. This chapter has described some best practices from a persistence perspective should you choose one of the two CMP models that EJB offers. However, EJB CMP is not a panacea. In the remaining chapters of this section, we will address the options out there that allow you to adhere to standard persistence models.
