Dr. Jeffrey H. Reed is a Professor in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. He became a faculty member at Virginia Tech and one of the core faculty of the Mobile and Portable Radio Research Group (MPRG) in 1992, and recently served as director of the MPRG. Dr. Reed received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis, from 19791987. Dr. Reed's areas of expertise are software radios, UWB, and smart antennas. He has coauthored or co-edited numerous conference proceedings, books and book chapters, and journal and conference papers. His most recent book is Software Radio: A Modern Approach to Radio Engineering (Prentice-Hall, 2002). Dr. Reed is a past recipient of the College of Engineering Award for Excellence in Research and is an IEEE Fellow. He currently serves on the Samsung Forum Technical Advisory Board. Dr. Reed and his students are involved in UWB receiver design and propagation measurements in the DARPA NETEX program. |
