Typographical Conventions


The book uses the following typographical conventions when presenting the various constructs introduced by XForms. All uses of these constructs are indexed.

element

XML element names are typeset in a bold font within angle brackets, for example, model .

attribute

XML attribute names are typeset in a slanted font, for example, ref .

event

Event names are typeset in a sans serif font, for example, DOMActivate .

function

Function names are typeset in an italic font, for example, max .

In addition, references that have a Web site have been offset with the Web location specified in the footnote, for example, W3C [1] ; in the HTML version found on the accompanying CD, these are hyperlinks that can be activated.
