The following are the basic hardware and software requirements for using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DTS Step by Step and its companion CD:
PC with 300- megahertz or higher clock speed, 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or more, at least 500 MB of available hard disk space, super VGA (800 — 600) or higher, CD-ROM or DVD drive, keyboard, and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device.
Microsoft Windows XP ”all procedures in this book assume you are using Windows XP, although you can also use any edition of Win dows 2000 or Windows Server 2003.
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 ”install a default instance of SQL Server 2000 using the Typical installation option. Do not change any default values.
Microsoft Analysis Services 2000 ”install Analysis Services using the default options.
