Selecting F ile, E xport Records isn't the only way to export data out of FileMaker. It's possible to export the contents of a single field on a specific record. All you need to do is put the cursor into any field ”even a container field ”and select E dit, E x port Field Contents. For container fields, the Export Field Contents menu item is grayed out unless the container field contains either a file or a reference to a file. FileMaker objects, such as rectangles, that have been copied and pasted into a container field cannot be exported. After you've selected the Export Field Contents menu item, the Export Field to File dialog comes up. All you need to do is specify a name and location for the resulting file and click Save. |
