Ted Pattison is an instructor and researcher at DevelopMentor (www.develop.com) in Los Angeles, California. He teaches professional developers how to build multitier applications using COM, MTS, and COM+ applications. He co-manages DevelopMentor's Visual Basic curriculum and has written several courses, including Guerrilla VB and Essential COM(+) for VB Programmers.

Ted is a contributing editor of MSDN magazine and has his own column titled Basic Instincts dedicated to building enterprise and Internet-style applications using Visual Basic. He has published articles in Microsoft Systems Journal, MIND, and Visual Basic Programmer's Journal. He's also a regular speaker at conferences such as VBITs, WinDev, and Tech Ed.

Ted provides consulting services through his own firm, Subliminal Systems (http://SubliminalSystems.com). He has worked with companies such as Hughes Aircraft, Dell Computer, Nabisco, ADP, IPS-Sendero, and PeachTree Software conducting architecture reviews and transferring technology to bring each company's programming talent up to speed for multitier development based on Windows 2000 and Windows NT technology.
