Working with Cells

You have built the table's frame work, so now it's time to fill it up with all sorts of interesting things.

Opening the Table Toolbar

Thus far, we have been using the handy context menu to achieve the results we need. But there are even more tools available in the FrontPage Table toolbar.

NOTE

If the Tables toolbar appears as a floating toolbar, simply click and drag the toolbar to the top of the Page view window to dock it with the other toolbars .

Adding Text to a Cell

Now that you have the Table toolbar in place, you can use it to complete some nifty cell formatting, starting with text.

Adding an Image to a Cell

Inserting images in a table cell is no more difficult than inserting a figure anywhere on a page.

Merging Cells

Occasionally, you may want to merge cells together. This situation can happen when you have extra, empty cells left over, and you just want to combine them to reduce their number.

Splitting Cells

Just as the need arises for merging cells, you may need to split an existing cell into many parts .

Coloring Cells

Cells need not be a black-and-white affair. You can quickly colorize cell background to match your aesthetic tastes. In this case, we'll apply color to a whole row, just so you can see how it's done.
