Using the Navigation View

[ LiB ]

Thus far you have been treating pages and folders (and other files) much the same way as you would any other files on your computer. The Folder View resembles Windows Explorer in that respect. When you create a Web site, though, it helps to understand the structure of the Sitehow the pages and images and folders are all linked together to form the actual Site.

This is where the Navigation View comes in. This visual view enables you to see and visualize your site as you build it.

Moving Pages

There's more to the Navigation View than just visualizing your site. If you have a navigation bar within your Site's pages (a common occurrence when you use a FrontPage template), then every time you alter the navigation structure of the Site, the navigation bars within all of those pages will be instantly changed to match the new structure.

Deleting Pages

Just as you can move pages around within the Navigation view, you can delete them as well. This does not necessarily delete the file itself; it simply removes all connections to and from that page in the Site.
