Domain structure that is based upon the geographic regions the domains represent.
reliability
Describes how dependable a system is. Redundant hardware will increase the reliability of a system.
Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS)
Remote user authentication technology that allows a remote user to connect to a local server (a RADIUS client), which then sends the authentication request to a RADIUS server, that is responsible for authenticating the user.
reserved client options
DHCP client configuration settings that are applied to the individual system that receives the reserved IP address from the DHCP server.
Reset Account Lockout Counter After setting
Account lockout policy option that resets the number of failed logon attempts to zero after the administrator-configured time has passed.
resource forest
Forest that is created to host specific resources. This is usually created so that a failure of a directory service “ related system within another forest will not affect the resources.
Resource group
Group type that has permissions assigned to resources. Other groups are added to the Resource group in order to give the users within those groups the appropriate permission to access the resource.
resource OUs
Organization units that are designed to host resources that specific users will administer.
restricted-access forest
A forest that is created in order to keep unauthorized individuals from having access to specific resources.
rogue administrator
A user who has administrative capabilities and uses them to gain access to resources they are not supposed to access.
