Remote and mobile connectivity has increased over the years because the extended office now includes hotels, airports, client sites, other campus buildings, and wireless users. With the expansion of the network from which users need to connect to a Windows Server 2003 environment, the improvement of security, reliability, compatibility, and performance becomes extremely important for an organization. Windows Server 2003 Routing and Remote Access Services (RRAS) includes all the enhancements added to the technology over the past several Windows Server product revisions, and includes several new technologies that further expand the capability of the technology. Although it may not have met all the needs of organizations in the past, RRAS now provides an extremely robust set of tools, technologies, and utilities to implement, support, monitor, and manage a truly enterprise-mobile communication environment.
