Recording with Effects

 <  Day Day Up  >

Sometimes, you just know what you want to do with a signal. If you have created a custom patch that always works with your bass, or you are playing thru a guitar amp simulator patch for a certain sound, go ahead and apply it to the signal as it is in the Input Mixer. This method is a good, economical use of effects, as it frees up effects for use later in the mixing process. As mentioned earlier, applying the HPFs in the Input Mixer is a quick way to prevent too much bass build-up in your mixes .

You may decide to raise the Input Mixer fader above 0dB if you take a lot out of your signal in the Input Mixer. If the signal is too hot with the Input Mixer fader at 0dB, there is probably something not quite adjusted properly in the Input Mixer.
