Sixteen Faders in Four Groups

The 16 channel faders control the levels of all inputs, tracks, AUX sends, and effects returns. However, there are 64 items to control and only 16 faders. To accommodate this, there are four buttons that select what the faders currently represent. The selections are:

  • IN 1-16: The faders represent and control input channels 1 “16.

  • IN 17-24/AUX MST: The faders represent and control input channels 17 “24 and AUX Master send levels.

  • TR 1-16: The faders represent and control track channels 1 “16.

  • TR 17-24/FX RTN: The faders represent and control track channels 17 “24 and effects return levels.

Input Channels

The input channels control audio that is coming into the VS-2480 before the audio is recorded. Any dynamics, EQ, or inserted effects applied to the input channel will be recorded.

Track Channels

The track channels control audio that is coming from the VS-2480's track recorder section. Any dynamics, EQ, or effects applied to the track channel will not be recorded to the track, but will simply change the way the track is heard .

AUX MSTR Channels

These faders control the level of the AUX busses. The AUX busses can supply signals to either the effects boards or the TRS output jacks .

FX RTN Channels

These faders control the amount of effects that are being supplied or returned to the Master bus. (The Master bus is where the main mix happens.)
