Vari Pitch

 <  Day Day Up  >

Vari Pitch allows you to change the tune or pitch of your recorded tracks by adjusting the playback speed. This can come in handy if you want to record an instrument alongside existing recorded tracks, but the instrument is not in tune with the tracks. If the instrument is difficult to tune to the tracks, like an acoustic piano, you may find it is easier to use Vari Pitch to tune the tracks to the piano.

You can also use Vari Pitch to create certain special effects. The limits of its use are really up to your imagination . To use Vari Pitch, do the following:

1.
Hold SHIFT and press F5 (SYSTEM).

2.
Press F3 (Play). If you don't see "Play" above F3, press PAGE until you do.

3.
Use the cursor keys to move to VariPitchSw.

4.
Use the jogwheel to select On.

5.
Use the cursor keys to move to Vari Pitch.

6.
Use the jogwheel to change the value for the sample rate, which will change the playback speed. Listen during playback to see how the pitch changes.

7.
When you are done, press F6 (Exit) to exit.

8.
To return to normal playback speed, turn the VariPitchSw switch to Off.
