About the Co-Authors

Bernard Ciconte is a Senior Software Engineer for Blair Computing Systems, Inc. (BCSI). As an employee of BCSI since 1989, he has worked as a contractor for DuPont, Sterling Diagnostic Imaging, and Agfa Corporation. His technical expertise is in distributed computing and image processing for radiographical medical devices. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 1984 with a bachelor s degree in electrical engineering. Peter Go is a senior software engineer with Mercury Interactive in Boulder, Colorado, where he is lead developer and strategist for Web Services APM (Application Performance Management) products. Before this Peter was a senior software engineer at BEA Systems, developing J2EE and Web Services components in the WebLogic Commerce and Portal Server products. Peter has more than 17 years of software development experience, but his specialty these days is in architecting and building Web Services solutions in Java/J2EE using WebLogic, WebSphere, and Apache technologies. In his spare moments, Peter group -moderates and gives Web Services talks at local Java user groups and professional conventions. He holds a B.S. in computer science and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Scott Dunbar is an architect and senior software engineer for BEA Systems in Boulder, Colorado. At BEA he has been involved in several areas of the WebLogic Portal Server series, including e-commerce components, the entitlements subsystem, and partner integrations. Additionally, Scott is the president and founder of Xigole Systems, a company that supplies Web service “based components and frameworks for e-commerce and portal servers. Scott has been in the computer industry for 15 years and has a B.S. in computer science from Bradley University.

Manish Devgan is a Senior R&D Engineer with BEA Systems, where he is developing Framework Services for WebLogic Portal. At BEA, he has worked on WebLogic Portal Entitlements Framework, Delegated Administration, Portal Administration Tools, and the End-to-End sample shipped with WebLogic Platform 7.0. He has filed a number of patents in the area of Entitlements and Delegated Administration.

Manish has spoken at technology conferences such as JavaOne and BEA eWorld.

Prior to joining BEA Systems, Manish was a Senior Architect at Persona, Inc. where he worked on privacy and security frameworks for e-commerce applications.

Manish also worked with US West Advanced Technologies, an R&D arm of the parent regional Bell operating company, as Member Technical Staff building call center and Voice Messaging applications.

Manish has ten years of experience building software. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science from University of Nebraska, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Dayalbagh University, India.
