TIP 123: Shortcut to CSS Editor from CSS Palette

When you have multiple pages and multiple CSS files, keeping track of which styles are defined where can be challenging. GoLive makes this tedious task a piece of cake with a secret little shortcut in the CSS palette (Figure 123). Click and hold the small black triangle next to any of the class names in the CSS palette and select the Edit In command to open the file where the class is defined. If the rule is defined in multiple locations, GoLive lets you pick from all the appropriate options.

You can also double-click a class in the CSS palette to open the correct style sheet automatically. If the selected rule is defined in multiple files, the last reference in the source code is the one that is opened when you double-click the class name.

For example, if you have two external style sheets applied to one page, GoLive is smart enough to open the correct .css file and even select the rule you want to edit. Because it's automatically selected for you, all you have to do is make your edits, evaluate the results with the Live Preview, and save when you're done.
