DB2 Database does allow a form of XML data type inclusion using something called the DB2 Extender. The DB2 Extender allows for full storage and functionality of XML data types into the DB2 relational database. However, it was decided during the process of writing this book that the DB2 Extender was not within the scope of this book. Additionally, many other relational databases do allow some form of XML use. Even MS Access database does. Future editions will include additional database vendor software as XML inclusion is added by the various database vendors , and as database vendor XML implementations become easier to use.
If you want to find further information on the Internet: Search for a term such as XML DOM or XSL in search engines such as Yahoo!. Be aware that not all information will be current and might be incorrect. Verify by cross-checking between multiple references. If no results are found using Yahoo! then try the full detailed listings on Google.
Search Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com, where other titles can be found.

As a final note, if this book included full descriptions of relational database model and XML, in addition to its current content, you might need a truck to carry the book around with you. The following two titles might help with specifics on the two topics of this book:
Beginning XML , David Hunter, et. al., Wrox, 2004, ISBN: 0764570773
Beginning Database Design , Gavin Powell, Wrox, 2005, ISBN: 0764574906
There are a multitude of other books covering both of these topics, both in bookstores and online.
Lets get started.
