Looking Ahead

In this chapter, you got your first taste of working with data in Web Matrix. I began by explaining the basics of data access in ASP.NET. Once you began working with data and created a Web page that displays data, you saw how much of the data-access work Web Matrix can do for you.

Now that you understand the mechanics of creating tables in MSDE and of adding data access to Web pages, you can put your new skills to work. In the next chapter, you ll learn how to create an ASP.NET Web page for data entry. You ll even be able to get feedback on your efforts, because you ll create a guestbook where people can enter comments about your site.
