Chapter 9.  File Systems

Every Virtual Partition has its own full HP-UX file system, just as you would have separate file systems on individual servers. The file systems work completely independently of one another. If you wanted to share file system information between two vPars, you would use the same method you use to share file system information between servers, such as Network File System (NFS). This complete independence of file systems of different vPars ensures the full software isolation of vPars.

In the upcoming section we'll cover some vPars file-system-related topics and then file-system background in the non-vPars specific part of this chapter.
