The Window menu is where you go to open certain windows as well as expand or collapse the main iTunes window. A.7.1 Minimize (iTunes 4 and later)This command sends the iTunes window swirling down into the Mac OS X Dock. As with any Mac OS X program, its windows return to the screen when you click its Dock icon. Keyboard shortcut: -M. NOTE When iTunes is minimized, hidden, or in the background, you can still control it. Hold your cursor down on the iTunes program icon (which looks like a CD with musical notes on it) to produce a pop-up menu filled with commands like Shuffle, Play, Next Song, and so on. You can even rate the song in progress using the My Rating submenu. A.7.2 Zoom (iTunes 4 and later)The Zoom command is the menu bar equivalent of clicking the green circle at the top of the windowit shrinks the full iTunes window down into a tiny compact silver bar. To expand the window back to its full size , choose Zoom again from the menu. A.7.3 iTunesYou can hide or reveal the program's windowwhether in full-screen view or the silver mini control barby selecting iTunes from the Window menu. Reselect iTunes from the menu to toggle the window on or off. Keyboard shortcut: -1. A.7.4 EqualizerEqualizer toggles the graphic equalizer window onscreen or off. Keyboard shortcut: -2. A.7.5 Bring All to Front (iTunes 4 and later)If your iTunes window is buried behind your Web browser, email inbox, and spread sheet project, you can pop it to the front by selecting Bring All to Front. (This command brings the equalizer and any open playlist windows to the front as well.) NOTE Any open playlist windows also appear in the Window menu. A checkmark indicates which playlist is the currently active and visible window. No checkmark next to the playlist name means it's open but buried under other windows. A diamond in front of the name means the playlist or window is open but minimized. |
