Rose Cassano (cover illustration) has worked as an independent designer and illustrator for 20 years . Assignments have spanned everything from the nonprofit sector to corporate clientele. Dennis Cohen (technical reviewer, previous editions) has served as the technical reviewer for many bestselling Mac books, including several editions of Macworld Mac Secrets and most Missing Manual titles. Tim Geaney (still photos) has shot editorial photos for Self, GQ, Glamour, and Mademoiselle magazines, among others. His commercial photography clients include Victoria's Secret, Nautica, J. Karl Petersen (technical reviewer, co-author Appendix B) lives with his wife, Joan, and a Collie on Bainbridge Island, Washington, a 30-minute ferry ride from Seattle. (It's the ferry Michael Douglas runs onto in Disclosure. ) A break between jobs (including a stint in the Peace Corps and a career in insurance) gave Karl the chance to explore the first Macs, and he never looked back. He also writes software.

Phil Simpson (design and layout) works out of his office in Stamford, Connecticut, where he has had his graphic design business since 1982.
