7.5. Surfing the Web

The most popular Internet service has got to be the World Wide Web. In fact, the Web is becoming synonymous with the Internet in popular usage (though purists will still correct you if you use the two terms interchangeably).

Most Windows XP users wind up using Internet Explorer, which is built right into the operating system, for Web surfing. But other browsers do exist, including the free Mozilla Firefox (www.mozilla.org), described in the box on Section 7.6.6.6.
