Saving Your Project and Opening a New Project

You're now finished with the song 2-1 Eyewitness. Let's save the project one last time, then open a different project. You can only have one GarageBand project open at a time, so by opening a new project, you will automatically close the other one.

1.	Press Cmd-S to save the current project.
2.	Choose File > Open, or press Cmd-O to open another project.
3.	Locate your Lessons folder and select Lesson_02 > 2-3 Homecoming Starting.
4.	Click Open to open the song. The song 2-3 Homecoming Starting opens in the GarageBand window.
5.	Choose File > Save As to save the project to your songs folder on the Desktop.
6.	Click the Desktop icon in the Save As window.
7.	Select your GarageBand Songs folder
8.	Click Save.

Now all of the changes you make to this song will be saved to your version in your folder on the Desktop. The original song will remain "as is" in the Lessons folder.
