Deleting a Region from the Timeline

team bbl

Now that you have recorded a new Wind Chime region at the end of the song, you no longer need the originally recorded region on the Wind Chime track.

There are two ways to delete a selected region from the Timeline:

  • Press the Delete key.

  • Choose Edit > Delete.

Before you delete the original Wind Chime region, you should put away your onscreen keyboard, since you're finished with it.

1.

Click the red Close button in the upper-left corner of the onscreen keyboard to close the keyboard.

2.

Locate the Wind Chime track.

3.

Click the Mute button on the Wind Chime track to unmute the track.

4.

Locate the third Wind Chime region in the track. It starts at the beginning of the 31st measure.

If you selected the Wind Chime track, all regions within that track become selected as well.

5.

Click the empty track area to the left of the Wind Chime region to deselect all regions in the track.

6.

Click once on the third Wind Chime region to select only that region.

7.

Press Delete on your keyboard to delete that region.

Note

When you press Delete, all selected regions will be deleted. Make sure you have selected only the regions you want to delete.

8.

Press the Home key to move the playhead to the beginning of the song.

9.

Press the spacebar to play your new and improved version of the finished song.

10.

Press the spacebar to stop playback when the song is finished.

Nice job on the wind chime recording! It sounds a lot better than the original wind chime I recorded from my synthesizer.
