Previewing the Finished Movie

Before you start building the project, let's take a look at the final version so you have an idea of what you're aiming for in this lesson.

The project is an introduction for a professional photographer's reel. But the photographer isn't your average amateur stringing together snapshots for a home movie. The introduction you'll be creating is the actual opening sequence for award-winning photographer Jeffrey A. Graves, who has traveled the globe, sometimes months at a time, taking photos for major companies and publications. That puts a lot more demand on the graphic designer.

The challenge is not only to show a few choice photos in an interesting manner; you also need to encompass the scope of the photographer's careerall in a mere 8 seconds.

Now that you have some perspective on the project, let's take a look.

1.

Close any open Motion projects.

2.

Open the Lesson_03 folder in the lower pane of the File Browser.

NOTE

The path for Lesson_03 is Desktop > MOTION_INTRO Book Files > Lesson_03.

3.

Click the List view button at the top of the File Browser to see the contents of the Lesson_03 folder in List view.

The Lesson_03 folder includes a lot of different project elements, so it will be easier to work from List view.

4.

Ctrl-click the file 03_Final Project in the lower pane of the File Browser and choose Open in Viewer from the contextual menu.

5.

Click the Play button, or press the spacebar, to watch the final movie in the Viewer.
