What You ve Learned

What You've Learned

  • Frame-based applications such as Lightwave, Flash, and Shake import and export image sequences. You can also import and export image sequences in Motion.

  • When you export an image sequence, each frame is rendered as a separate, sequentially numbered still image.

  • When you import an image sequence, by default you will see one collapsed file that contains all of the information for the sequence. You can also view the images in the File Browser individually by clicking the "Show collapsed image sequences" button to turn off the collapsed image sequences feature.

  • You can import a layered Photoshop file as a still image or as layers, depending on how you import the file. To import a layered Photoshop file and maintain the layers, you need to drag the file and hold down the mouse button over the Canvas or the Layer list until the drop menu appears with the option to import layers.

  • If you select multiple objects at the same time, the Dashboard title bar says Multiple Selections. You can then apply filters, keyframes, or behaviors to multiple objects at the same time.

  • You can save a project as a template and add it to the Template Browser by choosing Save as Template from the File menu.

  • Compressor is a companion Apple application that comes with Motion; you can use it to export files using various presets. The advantage of Compressor is that it lets you export files in the background while you continue working in Motion.
