Replacing a Particle Object

The particle systems you can create are limited only by your imagination. You can even replace the original object in a particle system to change the actual particles.

Let's change the original object in this particle system. What object should we use? Hmmm. Since you've been working so closely with the AquaBall, why not create a school of eager young AquaBalls chasing after their leader, or mother, or the Grand Poo-Ball….

Anyway, you can replace the original object on the Layers tab the same way that you replaced the objects in previous exercises. All you need to do is drag the AquaBall object from the Library to the original object on the Layers tab The original object in this scenario is fish_animation90, which is also the lowest element on the Layers tab.

1.

Press Cmd-2 to open the Library.

2.

Drag the AquaBall.png file from the Library and drop it on the fish_animation90 object on the Layers tab.

The particles in the Canvas become a school of AquaBalls that are attracted to the larger AquaBall object.

3.

Press Cmd-S to save the finished project.

4.

Close the current project.
