Colorizing the Background

The last step in this project is to add some color to the Background layer. You can also colorize the Center Square and Stills layers to give the project a more consistent look. Let's start with the Background layer.

1.

On the Layers tab, click the disclosure triangle for all the layers to hide all the contents.

2.

Select the Background layer and apply a Colorize filter from the Add Filters pop-up menu.

NOTE

The Colorize filter is located in the Color Correction category of filters.

3.

Click the Remap White To color well in the Colorize Dashboard to open the Colors window.

4.

Select a blue color from the color wheel, or choose another color if you wish.

Let's create a swatch of the color you selected so that you can use the same color another time.

5.

In the Colors window, drag a chip from the color bar to the swatches area at the bottom of the window.

6.

On the Layers tab, copy the Colorize filter from the Background layer and paste it on the Center Square layer.

The Colorize filter looks a little too intense on the Center Square layer.

7.

In the Colorize Dashboard, lower the Intensity slider to 0.50 to reduce the amount of color on the layer.

8.

Copy the Colorize filter on the Center Square layer and paste it on the Stills layer.

9.

In the Colorize Dashboard, lower the intensity of the Colorize filter on the Stills layer to 0.25.

Congratulations! You have completed five out of five projects and learned how to apply and modify filters in Motion.
