Adding the Starry Background

You can't have a proper Star Wars opening sequence without a starfield background for the titles and text to display against. Our starfield is brought to you courtesy of National Aeronautics and Space Administration, or NASA. If this one doesn't suit your tastes, visit the NASA website (www.nasa.gov/home) and search for more. They have hundreds of still images and video clips that you can use that are perfect for any scienceand science fictionprojects.

Load the Star Clip into the Project

Start Premiere Elements and create a new project called starwarstitle.

Click the Get Media from button on the Media panel to access the Get Media from view, if it's not already active.

Select DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader.

When the Media Downloader displays, click the Advanced Dialog button to switch to Advanced mode.

Select the starfield.jpg clip.

Click the Get Media button. Premiere Elements copies the starfield.jpg clip from the DVD onto your hard drive and adds it to the Available Media list for this project.

Drag the starfield.jpg clip onto the Video 1 track on the Timeline so that the head (front) of the clip is at the very beginning of the track.

Tip

If you are in Sceneline view, just drop the clip onto the first scene placeholder (as shown in the illustration).

For this project, we'll need to be in Timeline view because we are working with mulTiple clips on multiple video tracks. So, if the My Project panel is not already in Timeline view, click the Timeline button (shown below) to switch.
