Making Other Adjustments to the Hawaii Scene

Because our actor is supposed to be standing in the sand on a sun-drenched beach in Hawaii, the fact that she appears to be lit like she's indoors (which she was, actually) is causing this scene to be a bit unbelievable. What we'll do here to brighten up our actress (other than actually sending her to Hawaii) is to increase the brightness of the clip just a touch.

Adjust the Brightness to Give the Actor an Outdoor Look

Select the Hawaii_reporter clip on the Video 2 track to make it the active clip.

In the Properties panel, click the triangle next to Image Control.

Set the Brightness to 8.0. Leave all of the other Image Control settings exactly as they are:

  • Contrast:

100.0

  • Hue:

0.0°

  • Saturation:

100.0

Create a Freeze Frame to End the Video

Move the CTI to the very last frame of the Hawaii_reporter.avi clip.

Tip

The last frame of the clip is at 00;00;14;17.

In the Monitor panel, click the Freeze Frame button.

On the Freeze Frame dialog box, set the duration to 10 seconds.

Click the Insert in Movie button.
