Bringing in the Clips for the Project

Although this project is not particularly complicated, it does incorporate four video clips, one music clip, and one sound effect file (which is used multiple times). By adding these clips to the Timeline in just the right way, we can recreate our version of the opening of the well-known 24 show using just the tools available in Premiere Elements.

Import the Project's Video Clips

Start Premiere Elements and create a new project called 24effect.

Click the Get Media from button on the Media panel to access the Get Media from view, if it's not already active.

Select DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader.

When the Media Downloader displays, click the Advanced Dialog button to switch to Advanced mode.

Select the following six media clips:

  • 24clock.wav

  • dublin.avi

  • MinorReleaseL2.mp3

  • newyork.avi

  • sanfran.avi

  • urban.avi

Click the Get Media button. Premiere Elements copies the clips from the DVD onto your hard drive and adds it to the Available Media list for this project.

Did You Know?

Video clips for this project were prepared from existing clips. The dublin.avi clip is a version of Artbeats' TL302.mov clip, and the urban.avi clip is a version of Artbeats' TC107.mov clip. The newyork.avi and sanfran.avi clips are from the Footage Firm's brooklynbridge1.avi and sanfranpaintehouses.avi, respectively.
