Image placeholders are new to Dreamweaver MX, and they come in handy. They allow you to space things out in your Web site before the actual content is available. Maybe the design team got backed up; now you can continue designing just by inserting an image placeholder. To insert an image placeholder, click the Image Placeholder button under the Common tab of the Insert Panel. This launches the Image Placeholder dialog box, as shown in Figure 4.44. Here you can specify dimensions, color, name, and even alt tag information. After you complete the necessary information and click OK, a placeholder is inserted into the document, as shown in Figure 4.45. Figure 4.44. The Insert Image Placeholder dialog box offers options for dimension, size, color, and name. Figure 4.45. The Image Placeholder is a generic image holding a spot for a real image. To replace the image placeholder with the real image, highlight the image placeholder and in the Properties Inspector, in the SRC text field, either type in the path to the image or click the folder icon to browse for the file. |
