Chapter 19. Behaviors
You can have an object within your document trigger an alert message window through the use of JavaScript. An alert message is a small dialog box that pops up in the middle of the screen, as shown in Figure 19.16.
Figure 19.16. An alert message is a small dialog box that appears in the middle of the screen after something triggers it to pop open.
To add the Pop-up Message behavior, follow these steps:
Highlight whatever object in the document you want to trigger the Pop-up Message behavior.
In the Behaviors panel, click the Add Behavior (+) button and from the drop-down menu choose Pop-up Message; this opens the Pop-up Message dialog box, as shown in Figure 19.17.
Figure 19.17. Type in whatever message you want to appear in the Pop-up Message window when it opens, based on the highlighted object you set as the trigger.
Type in any message. This is the message that will populate the alert window.
Click OK when you're done. You will return to the document. Preview this page in a browser and notice that after you click the trigger, the Pop-up window alerts you with the message you typed into the Pop-up Message dialog box.
