Adding rich media such as video and audio can offer a great way to add more depth to your site. The great thing about both these mediums is that they can remain optional for the end user. Although both options require plug-ins by the end users, they often add to your existing site's content.
With people and Web surfers demanding more from their Web experiences, offering digital video and audio on your site may be just enough to have them return to your site time and time again.
When you offer such content, let the end user know how large the file size is when linking to such media. This will allow them to determine whether the content is worth the wait to view. You may also want to offer the content in more than one format so that it's compatible with many different media players.
