Chapter 11. Layers in Dreamweaver
Layers offer a great way to design pages, especially with the inclusion of the CSS standards. They can provide great flexibility; however, with everything on the Web, they'll require a bit of sacrifice if you want to use them. You have to decide if the benefits outweigh the negatives for the project you are working on.
Layers can also provide a tremendous amount of interactivity. You'll learn how you can use layers to add richer media to your sites in Chapter 12, "DHTML," and Chapter 19, "Behaviors."
