You can combine many available technologies to allow the virtualization of an enterprise network. The resulting architectures have diverse levels of scalability and allow different types of connectivity. As the requirements of the enterprise grow, the sophistication of the technology required will also expand, potentially taking an enterprise from the deployment of simple ACLs to the implementation of an MPLS core. Regardless of the technology chosen, you must preserve the resiliency and scalability of the network. This chapter explored the applicability of the different technologies and how you should approach these to maintain the desired level of resiliency and scalability. |
