You may have expected this hour to be an appendix or an introduction, but those sections of any book are often overlooked. To use Perl to its fullest potential, you must understand at least a little about the Perl community.

Knowing what makes the Perl community tick will help you understand what resources are available to you, why they're there, how they work, and why Perl is what it is. Many resources are out there to help you, and this hour will help you find them.
