In this chapter, we explored the Tools Options dialog. We learned how to alter the Recorder’s various preferences by tweaking options on the dialog’s six tabs:
Capture. Set various capture and performance options as well as choose how and in which format the recorded file is saved.
Video. Select a video codec, change the frame rate, and select a screen capture mode.
Audio. Choose an input device and source, set volume sensitivity, and choose an output format and accompanying attributes.
Camera. Choose an appropriate video device for the capture of camera video content, and access the camera properties and video format options as well.
Hotkeys. Specify keyboard hotkeys for up to nine commonly used commands.
Program. Set general program preferences as well as stipulate a temporary file folder for storing recordings in progress.
So now you’ve mastered all the options of Camtasia Recorder, both for special effects and for the application’s various preferences. In the next and final chapter of this unit, we’ll be talking about recording your PowerPoint presentations using the Camtasia Studio Add-in for PowerPoint.
