You have the option to insert an image placeholder if you do not have the final image. A placeholder can be inserted and used to approximate how the final graphic will appear in the page in combination with text, tables, or other elements.
The image placeholder appears in the Document window. It is black and displays the image name and the dimensions. Note If you have Fireworks installed and set as the default editor for your image files, you can select the placeholder image in the Document window and click the Create button in the Property inspector to open a Fireworks document at the size you specified for the placeholder. When you save that document, the name you used for the placeholder image is automatically assigned in the Fireworks Save As text field. When you preview your page in a browser, the image placeholder displays a broken image icon along with the alt text within a box with the dimensions and color you defined in the Image Placeholder dialog box. To replace this, you need to swap the image placeholder with the intended image, as described in the next exercise. Your page should now look similar to this example. |
