Opening the Picture Tasks Tool

The Picture Tasks tool offers pull-down menus containing options for working with images in the open PDF document.

Use the hawaiianLuau.pdf file, which you can download from www.peachpit.com/adobereader7, to follow steps in this chapter. Note that when you open the file it opens in Full Screen mode. Press the Esc key to change the view to editing mode.

To load the Picture Tasks tool:

1.	Open a file that supports Picture Tasks, or use the hawaiianLuau.pdf file. A dialog opens (Figure 9.1) informing you that several features are supported in the open document. Figure 9.1. Special features are available to you when you open a file that supports Picture Tasks.
2.	Click OK in the dialog. The Picture Tasks tool is loaded in the Adobe Reader Toolbar Well.
3.	Click the down arrow on the Picture Tasks tool to open a pull-down menu (Figure 9.2) containing Picture Tasks commands. Figure 9.2. Menu commands for Picture Tasks are contained in a pull-down menu.
4.	If you use a Macintosh computer, the same tool opens when you open files that support Picture Tasks; however, fewer menu commands appear because the Macintosh version of Adobe Reader does not support online services (Figure 9.3). How do I eliminate the warning dialog when I open files supported by Picture Tasks?

When the Adobe Reader warning dialog opens, check the box for Don't show again. The next time you open a file supported by Picture Tasks, the warning dialog is bypassed and the file opens in the Document pane.

If you disable the warning dialog, you can return to the default setting and have the warning dialog resume appearing when you open files supporting Picture Tasks. To do so, open the Preferences dialog by pressing Ctrl/Command+K. Click General in the left pane and click the Reset All Warnings button in the right pane (Figure 9.4). All warning dialogs return to their default settings.
