The book cover was designed by Charlene Charles Will and laid out in Adobe InDesign CS. The cover illustration was created by Stephen Daumpier using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

The manuscript was written in Microsoft Word on a Macintosh G4 while Adobe Reader was in view on a networked Windows Pentium IV computer running Windows XP Home Edition. Screen shots were captured to the system clipboard using the PRT SCR key on Windows and converted from the clipboard to PDF in Adobe Acrobat 7. The PDF documents were opened in Adobe Photoshop CS where they were sized, converted to grayscale, and saved as TIFF files. All screen shots on both Windows and the Macintosh were first created as PDFs before being converted to TIFFs.

All manuscript and image files were transmitted electronically to the Peachpit FTP site where they were distributed to the technical editor and copy editors working on Windows and Macintosh computers.

The book was designed and laid out in Adobe InDesign CS on a Macintosh G4 computer. Fonts used in the book are: Frutiger, Trade Gothic, Trade Gothic Condensed, ITC Weidemann, and Zapf Dingbats. The final low-resolution design proofs were electronically transmitted to the author for proofreading as PDF files exported from Adobe InDesign. Final files were submitted to the printer as Adobe PDFs.
